Please Read
All forums do need their rules, we are no exception. Please do your best to follow these as well as classic forum etiquette. Keep in mind that we can't possibly cover every situation so there may be changes.
General Conduct
This forum has gone through many changes, many spurred by the behavior of both staff and members but one aspect has kept it strong. Community. This is a group of people who want to write and want someplace to do it. There will be no tolerance for fighting, bullying, flaming, disrespect or undo criticism. If you are having any problems you are strongly encouraged to talk to the staff. We will not spread rumors or reveal anyone's identity. Please remember that common sense is our number one rule, please use it at all times.
Before You Join
By registering an account that indicates to us that you have read and agreed to these rules. We expect all members to be active, considerate and to make an honest effort to be a member. Being involved means signing up for plots you find interesting, reading over other people's posts and striving to improve. We hope that we can make it easy for you to do these things here. The forum has recently moved up to a 16+ rating. We do not classify this as a reason to make this a free-for-all. There are younger members here and the board is mature but tasteful. Any smut will be deleted and the members in question will receive a warning. There is a protected forum available for members who wish to delve into content of a mature nature and players are encouraged to make use of it if they cannot remain at a PG-13 rating. Membership to the mature forum is by request and you must affirm to the admin that you are of suitable age to access that type of content. Make sure to bookmark both the site and the cbox if you are joining, it happens to be a common reason for losing members. lol. Lastly, before you join, be sure that you can be active on the forum. All inactive accounts may be removed after 30 days of inactivity regardless of who you are.
Registration Details
Our forums used to have a feature that allows for you to set a full name and a login name, but our current configuration does not have that. Your login name should be a name that generally reflects you or the character in question. When you fill out your profile there are custom fields that will also double as your character sheet. Among those is a 'full name' field which is for displaying your character's name prominently on posts. The 'First Impressions' field is a long field that will show italicized under your avatar on posts as well and can be anything you want for people to react to when they see or react to your character. Please only post to the 'new submissions' forum when your bio is complete. Incomplete bios will not be approved until they are finished (or the account may be deleted if it remains incomplete for 30 days). Try to spell-check your work if possible we don't require a writing sample with your bio so try to make a good impression through your description of your character and his or her history. Finally, it doesn't have to be perfect, just have some personality and try to demonstrate that you've read some of the setting notes, or took the time to talk to other players before filling the bio out. If there are any problems, the admin will generally be happy to work them out with you.
Avatars and Signatures
I would like to stress that we do not allow advertising in your signature. Any ads found there will be removed. The collective of all images, text, ect in your signature must not be taller than 225px and cannot be wide enough to stretch the layout of the forum. Avatar maximums are set at 100x100. We do prefer if you have some sort of graphical representation of your character but it is not required. It doesn't have to be a celeb, it can be a stock image, an anime character or drawing. Please avoid myspace/deviant art/copywritten images when possible, if not, try to credit the artist at least. Avatar claims are first come, first serve. It is your responsibility to make sure you have claimed your avatar.
In Character Posting
USE SPELL CHECK! I cannot spell, I make terrible typos and I have bad grammar. Spell check is my best friend, I will introduce you if you are shy. hehe. Anyway, we do not have any post minimums because we prefer quality over quantity but please try to maintain the standards set by the forum. If we feel your posting has fallen below standard, you will be contacted by a staff member and will be restricted to posting with staff until your posting has improved. You may post the same character in more than one place at the same time but you must keep within a realistic time line.
We list our game as 'advanced' in terms of literacy and ability to write but we don't turn away people who are enthusiastic about the setting, creative, and willing to try. If your words can be understood we won't fault a few typos or grammatical errors.
